The Details

Two Bikes and Southside Garage are proud to present the 2024 Southern Appalachian Bike Swap on April 28th from 12 to 7.

The Bike Swap is a place to buy, sell, and trade all your favorite bikes and parts. There’s no better time or place to talk nerdy bike stuff. Register for a table and help clear out your parts bin.

The Knoxville Goldsprints is high-energy stationary bike race. Two cyclists compete head-to-head in a bracket format with the winner crowned at the end of the day.

The Alt-Bike Met Gala is ob-jec-tively the most prestigious bike show in the Southeast. Bring your favorite bike(s) to compete in the vintage road, vintage mountain, modern road, modern mountain, and of course, alt-bike (commuter, bikepacking, bike touring) category.

The Used Bike Corral is for those folks looking to sell a bike or two but don’t have the need to rent a table.

If you’re coming from out of town, make sure you get here early because Two Bikes will be hosting a variety of fun group rides all weekend long!

Attending the Southern Appalachian Bike Swap is free, but we recommend making a $5.00 donation. 100% of the proceeds from the event go towards employing underserved youth in The Bike School.

The Bike Swap

The Southern Appalachian Bike Swap is the premier time and place to unload all your unused bikes parts and accessories. Looking for those last few components to complete a build? Or do you just want to dork out with fellow bike nerds? Well, the Southern Appalachian Bike Swap is your moment to shine.

Each table is $25 and individuals can register as many tables as their little heart desires. Tables are about 70” x 30” and includes one chair.

Tables are limited and registration closes on April 24th, so don’t sleep on it too long!

Vendor set up is from 11am to 12pm and the vendor pack-up begins at 6:30pm. We ask that all your bikes, parts, and accessories are totally cleared out by 7:00pm.

The Alt-Bike Met Gala

The Alt-Bike Met Gala is the most prestigious bike show in all the lands. It’s true…don’t google it.

Enter your favorite bike (or bikes) in the vintage road, vintage mountain, modern road, modern mountain, or alt-bike, for a chance to win eternal glory (or at least 12 months of bragging rights).

The bike show is free to enter but donations are encouraged, and 100% of the proceeds from the Alt-Bike Met Gala go towards employing underserved youth in Knoxville, Tennessee though The Bike School.

Knoxville Goldsprints

The Knoxville Goldsprint is an ultra-hype, high energy stationary bike race on rollers. Cyclist compete head-to-head in a bracket format all while being cheered on by a rowdy crowd.

At the end of the day, the strongest cyclists will face off. Don’t underestimate the Goldsprints; it will knock the wind out of you (a puke bucket will be on hand).

Entry for the Knoxville Goldsprint is $15, and 100% of the proceeds go towards employing underserved youth in Knoxville, Tennessee through
The Bike School.

  • A Goldsprint is a bicycle rollers racing and social event. Riders on stationary bikes compete against each other in front of spectators.

  • Got a lot of bike-y junk and looking to make some cash? Wanna buy more bike-y junk? How about trading bike-y junk for other bike-y junk? O yea!

The Southern Appalachian Bike Swap hosted by Two Bikes and Southside Garage runs from 12:00pm - 7:00pm on April 28th, 2024 at Southside Garage (1014 Sevier Ave, Knoxville, TN 37920). Admission to browse, buy, trade or hangout is free but donations are accepted to help fund our programs. If you want to SELL anything–bicycles and bicycle parts, accessories etc.–you’ll need to register for a vendor’s table.

Registration for a vendors’ table is $25.

But wait! Did I tell you about the bike show?

  • Is your bike a blinged-out shred sled, a real show-stopper? Well, if you think your ride has got what it takes, roll it on out and see how it stacks up. Admission to the bike show is FREE and trophies are awarded to best of five categories: Vintage Road Bike, Vintage Mountain Bike, Modern Road Bike, Modern Mountain Bike, Alt-Bike (Bikepacking, Touring, Commuter).

To enter your bike into the show, visit the registration table. Maximum entry is two bikes per person. Winners will be announced at 5:30pm.

  • Simple! Registration for a single table is $25.

  • We usually get an extra table or two but DON’T COUNT ON IT. We ask that all vendors register before April 24th, 11:59pm so that we can have an accurate count for the number of tables needed.

  • Vendors will receive their table locations on the day of the swap. Just visit the registration table and we’ll direct you to your assigned table(s). And if you have any other questions we’ll be happy to help.

  • The Southeastern Appalachian Bike Swap runs from 12:00pm - 7:00pm on April 28th, 2024. We ask that vendors show up at 11:00am so we can get everyone situated before the swap starts. The swap officially closes at 7pm so we can round folks up and announce bike show winners at 5:30pm.

When you arrive, please see the registration table and we’ll get you to your assigned table(s).

We also ask that vendors have their remaining junk all packed up and their tables cleared before 7:00pm.

  • Each registered vendor will be provided with a table (give or take, 2.5’x8’) and ONE CHAIR along with enough additional space for 1-2 bikes. If you think you’ll need more room than that, you’re welcome to register for an additional table…or two…I don’t know, how much junk do you have?

  • Bummer! Unfortunately, vendor registration fees are non-refundable.

  • For sure!

  • You can register as many tables as your heart desires.

  • It’s up to the individual vendor but CASH is always the preferred option. If I had a nickel for everytime someone is fixin’ to say, “do you have Venmo?” I’d have a lot of nickels.

  • Sorry but no. That wouldn’t be fair to other paying vendors. Registration for a vendors’ table only costs $25.

  • If you’ve got a bike or two to sell you DO NOT need to register for a table! Check out our new-for-this-year Used Bike Corral.

  • Matt’ll help you out. matthew@twobikes.org
